Branding – Led the organization’s first brand identity project resulting in more consistent and polished communications materials.

Website – Created HRWC’s website. Staff reported receiving glowing compliments on the site since it was launched, and website traffic increased 65% since the launch. Incorporated Yoast SEO tools to grow reach and Google Analytics to analyze results. Used results to improve website engagement.

Campaign – Conceptualized and produced a digital video campaign that reached 60,000 people on Facebook, Instagram and YouTube to raise awareness of local microplastic pollution. Used paid placement on Meta and Google Ads to expand reach.

Community Outreach – Managed communications in a neighborhood to promote rain gardens. Achieved an 80% approval rate for installing rain gardens in the public areas of the neighborhood.

Event Marketing – Created all promotional print and digital materials for HRWC’s annual fundraiser. Attendance increased each year.

Social Networking –Built an editorial calendar for the team to facilitate content and led social media content development. Facebook fans tripled and Instagram followers grew from 100 to 1,600+ within my first 3 years.

Community Engagement– Conducted surveys and analyzed results to measure residents’ attitudes and knowledge of local water. Facilitated focus groups for behavior change and community engagement projects. Gained valuable insights to strategically move projects forward. Led a Community-Based Social Marketing program.

Communications and Strategy – Provided outreach materials for numerous projects and organization-wide messaging, including blogs, newsletter articles, events, website text, and social networking. Participated in strategic planning for the organization and the marketing department.

Growth – Increased membership and revenue by 51% in first 17 months and more than doubled them in 7 years. Coordinated IT, marketing, and member services teams to implement new pricing plans and products. Maintained membership retention rate at 85% despite entry of multiple, large for-profit competitors into local market.

Strategy – Developed long-term strategies for marketing, technology upgrades, and staffing as part of senior management team.

Campaign – Analyzed competitive market trends and developed campaigns. Rollout tactics included online advertising, Google Adwords, OOH advertising, integration with social media, website pages and flyers.

Budgeting – Created and managed marketing budgets. Consistently kept expenses within annual budget.

Market Development – Engaged 250,000 local residents annually through events and strategic marketing. Created appealing event booths, developed targeted materials, launched sponsorship and member perks programs, managed outreach reps, and built brand community via e-newsletters and social media.

PR – Wrote, and pitched press releases. Crafted talking points for CEO, set up interviews, and also served as spokesperson. Managed all media relations for the organization.

Supervision – Supervised marketing department staff, which included marketing associates, interns, consultants, and volunteers.

Programs – Developed products, marketing materials, and website content. Programs included the nation’s first wheelchair accessible carshare vehicle, communications and PR for an electric vehicle fleet, and a low-income program. Achieved news exposure for all programs.

Institutional Partnerships – Built and managed relationships with local universities, hospitals, and governments. Wrote proposals and created service contracts.

Marketing and Public Relations Director

Doubled number of media placements in first year. Crafted and pitched stories to reporters, wrote press releases, set up interviews, and created talking points. Placements included The New York Times and The Wall Street Journal.

Developed communications products and services for women’s funds. One member fund collected over $6 million in first month.

Upgraded design style for marketing materials including website and electronic newsletters. Produced brochures, speeches, videos, website content, and PSAs including “The best annual report WFN has ever done,” according to CEO.
